Why choose Keeping House?

We provide our clients with that extra special, professional, reliable and efficient cleaning and ironing service, that caters for today's busy environment. We realise no two households are the same, and we clean your home the way you want it. On our initial visit we will determine your specific needs, including how long we will need to carry out your clean.

How long will it take you to find me a cleaning operative, and is there a minimum number of hours per visit?

Normally we will arrange a cleaning operative, and set up the service within a week.

A minimum visit of 2 hours is required.

Are your staff reliable?

Our staff are reliable, conscientious, responsible and trustworthy, and we aim to send you the same cleaning operative every visit. However, should your regular cleaning operative require time off we will, after notifying you, send you a temporary cleaning operative to carry out the regular cleaning duties.

Can the cleaning be carried out while I am at work, and can I specify which day of the week I'd like the cleaning operative to visit?

Yes, the cleaning can be carried out while you are at work. The majority of our clients prefer this, and leave keys with us.

Yes, you can specify the day of the week you would like the cleaning to be carried out. We aim to accommodate all requests, although at certain times if we are unable to do this the nearest alternative options will be offered to you.

What does a regular clean involve?

During a regular clean the cleaning operative will polish all surfaces, vacuum all floors, clean the bathroom (including shower cubicle and bath) and mop any hard floors as required.

Is there a minimum contract for using your services? Are there any penalties for cancellation?

There is no minimum contract. All we ask is that you give us at least 48 hours notice of any cancellation or change to the service you require.

However, should your cleaning operative be unable to carry out your clean through no fault of their own (eg: unable to gain access due to doors being locked from the inside, or home improvements being carried out that hinder the clean that we have not been notified of) then you will be liable to pay for the full agreed rate of the clean.

Who is responsible for providing the cleaning materials and equipment?

You are responsible for the provision of adequate cleaning materials and equipment. We have found that due to the many different types of finishes for floors, surfaces, etc., this is the best system to employ. We know that you are safe in the knowledge that you are happy with the products being used, as you are already using them.

How quickly can you turn around my ironing?

If you take our stand alone ironing service, we can pick up and return your ironing within 48 hours. We are very flexible and happy to arrange pick up and drop off to suit you.

Who provides hangers, and how shall I give you the ironing?

We ask that you supply hangers yourself, and give us the ironing right side out with all the buttons undone, in a basket or similar container. All ironing is carried out in a non-smoking environment.

How much do the 'Treat Yourself' options cost?

This varies depending on the option required. Please email us with your requirements, or discuss with your cleaning operative during a prior regular clean, and we will be happy to provide you with a quote.

How do I pay?

Cleaning: An invoice will be left on completion of the regular clean, including flowers and/or shopping if provided. Payment will be required by cash or cheque (made payable to 'Keeping House'), and given to the operative on the next regular cleaning day. For one-off cleans, an invoice will be left on completion of the clean and payment will be required within 7 days by cash or cheque (made payable to 'Keeping House').

Ironing: This is paid for on delivery of completed ironing.
